The Beautiful Lavender Farm Hiding In Plain Sight In Denver That You Need To Visit
When it comes to beautiful blooms, there is nothing quite as vibrant and fragrant as some perfectly purple lavender… but where can you find this plant in the middle of the city? Believe it or not, the answer is right under your nose at the famous Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms!
Located in the heart of Littleton’s Chatfield Farms, this three-quarter acre lavender garden is the newest addition to the botanic gardens and features 14 different varieties of this purple bloom. In addition to the lavender itself (which “demonstrates growing lavender as a crop, while several more varieties of lavender are grown as ornamental plants within nearby perennial beds”), the gardens also boast a stunning rock garden, pergola, labyrinth, and a whole lot more! As if this wasn’t enough, Chatfield Farms also hosts an annual lavender festival, which takes place on July 15th, 2017 from 9 am to 5 pm, and will offer food vendors, demonstrations, kiddie rides, and other fun surprises.
The Chatfield Farms’ Lavender Garden is located at 8500 W Deer Creek Canyon Rd in Littleton and is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm. More information can be found on their website.
