Quite possibly one of the most iconic of field trip destinations near the City of Denver is that of the colorful Butterfly Pavilion. While you have probably heard of this unique attraction, have you ever taken the time to check it out? If you have not, this is what you have been missing and why you should plan a day trip to see it for yourself:
Located in Westminster is that of the must-see Butterfly Pavilion; an incredible 30,000-square-foot facility that is home to more than 5,000 animals!
Opened in 1995, the Butterfly Pavilion's mission is to "foster an appreciation of invertebrates while educating the public about the importance of conservation of threatened habitats in the tropics and around the world."
Just how does this delightful attraction complete its mission? For starters, it offers a number of hands-on attractions, like the "Water's Edge" exhibit (complete with horseshoe crabs and sea stars)...

Spanning an impressive 7,200-square-feet, the Wings of the Tropics is home to both a whopping 1,600 butterflies AND more than 200 plant species from around the world.
