If there is one thing that I have learned in my 27 years on this earth, it is that the more unassuming and less frilly of a restaurant, the better the food. (Amen? Amen.) Take, for instance, this Denver restaurant that may not look like much on the outside, but serves up some of the most delicious entrees in the city:
Family owned and operated for more than 30 years, the Butcher Block may be one of the most casual of restaurants, but what it lacks in looks it makes up for with some of the best home-cooked food you will ever taste.
Located at 1701 38th St, the Butcher Block Cafe serves up their famous made-to-order breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials from their down-home dining area, which is filled with both delicious smells and some of the friendliest staff you will ever meet.
When you visit, come hungry, as the restaurant serves massive (yet surprisingly affordable) portions of their dishes, which includes such favorites as the Roundhouse and green chili omelet...
(In addition to their flagship store on 38th Street, the Cafe boasts two other locations at 5002 Washington St. and 4605 E 74th Ave. in Commerce City.)
The original Butcher Block Cafe is located at 1701 38th St. in Denver and is open Monday through Friday from 5 am to 8 pm, Saturdays from 5 am to 3 pm, and on Sundays from 6 am to 3 pm. For more information, please visit the Butcher Block Cafe's website.
