A stroll around Crown Hill Lake in Jefferson County will transport you to a fall foliage wonderland without having to travel far.
The Crown Hill Park lake loop and nature trails are a golden-colored oasis amid a suburban neighborhood in the Lakewood/Wheat Ridge area.
This paved 1.2 mile trail offers a scenic getaway for locals who would like to take a beautiful stroll, bike ride, or in-line skate around a gorgeous lake.
This smaller trail will lead you to the northwest corner of the park where you can admire abundant bird life. Certified as a National Urban Wildlife Refuge, this area is a wonderful place to spot a variety of migrating waterfowl.
The recreational opportunities abound in this spectacular urban retreat. Equestrians can enjoy the 2.25 mile loop around the perimeter of the park. You will also view anglers at the lake, reeling in bass, catfish, and trout.
Picnic tables and restrooms are available so you can pack a picnic and make a wonderful fall day at this park. As the evening rolls in, you will be rewarded with a stunning Rocky Mountain sunset mirrored off of the lake.
