Does anyone else feel like we just rang in the new year last week? Alas, this is not the case and fall/cooler temperatures/pumpkin everything is upon us, meaning it is time to partake in everything this colorful season has to offer! Not sure where to begin? Begin by taking one of these 5 hayrides around Denver that will make your autumn awesome:
1.) Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms (Littleton)
What better place to begin our tour of Denver-area hayrides than at the iconic Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms; a 700-acre native plant refuge and working farm that offers hay rides Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from September 15th through October 29th.
2.) Cottonwood Farms (Boulder)
Unlike Chatfield, the small and family-owned Cottonwood Farms is only open seasonally, slated to open this year (2017) on September 23rd! Also not like Chatfield? Admission to Cottonwood Farms and all of its offerings (minus the hay ride, which runs Saturdays and Sundays and costs a mere $3 per person) is free.
3.) Berry Patch Farms (Brighton)
Are you looking to try something new with the kids? Take them berry picking at Berry Patch Farms (which my sons and I did a few weeks ago with our friends and highly recommend)! In addition to being able to pick your own organic produce, you will receive a complimentary hay ride to and from the fields from one of the farm's friendly staff members.
4.) Anderson Farms (Erie)
What? Did you think that the popular Anderson Farms *only* had an epic corn maze? Think again! (Anderson's antique tractor hay rides run September 20th through October 31st.)
5.) Colorado Pumpkin Patch (Castle Rock)
Named one of the 20 Best Places to Take Your Kids 3 years in a row by Kids Out and About, the Colorado Pumpkin Patch features all things fall and fun. Beginning September 23rd, check out the Patch for an 80-foot-long straw slide, a 30-foot-wide jumping pad, and -- yes -- hay rides!
