Do you enjoy supporting small businesses? Do you love learning about Colorado history? Or maybe you are a bit of a shopping enthusiast looking for a new place to peruse? No matter your answer, you are going to want to check out this Denver-area general store that is one of the oldest in the state:
Tucked away in the small town of Alma lies the charming little Al-Mart General Store; an all-in-one-stop shop that has been serving the small mountain community in different ways since 1896.
Established in 1873, Alma is the highest incorporated municipality in the country and was at one time the home to thousands of families who worked in the surrounding mines.
Today, the community is home to an estimated 275 residents.
