1. Ruby Hill Park (1200 W. Florida Ave, Denver, CO 80223)
Ruby HIll Park is probably the most sought out sledding hill, so it does get crowded at times. But, not to worry. It is also the largest designated sledding space in the Mile HIgh City so there is plenty of space for everyone to sled to their heart's content. Don't miss the 360 degree panoramic view of Denver from the Pavilion. Added Bonus: The nearby Ruby HIll Rail yard offers a terrain playground for both skiers and snowboarders.
2. Ken Caryl Sledding Hill Park (9989 W. Ken Caryl Ave., LIttleton, CO 80107)
This sledding hill found on the northwest corner of South Kipling and West Ken Caryl Blvd. is another local favorite. Parking is limited in this area, so be prepared to walk a bit from your car to reach the North facing hill that will provide hours of winter entertainment.
Trudging back up the hill for another ride down the hill has an added bonus at Barnum Park...a fantastic view of the downtown Denver skyline. You can find this park just west of Federal Blvd. and North of West 6th Ave.
This expansive park is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of DTC and is home to an awesome area to sled (found at the corner of S. Wabash St. and Union St.).
5. Jefferson Park (2201 Clay St., Denver, CO 80211)
Located at Stapleton's 80-acre park, this giant hill becomes a winter wonderland after a nice snowfall. The hill has a 30 foot slope, but it's not too steep which makes it perfect for little ones who don't want to pick up too much speed on their way down the hill..
The Rec Center area of Aurora is home to two large sledding hills. Children usually head to the smaller of the two, but proceed with caution as there is a creek nearby.
