There’s just something about the atmosphere of a true 1950’s style diner that can really transport you back in time. The neon lights gleam as classic rock and roll tunes blare from the jukebox and you sip on a homemade milkshake. For a moment, you are filled with sweet memories of a simpler time.
If you are in search of a nostalgic dining experience like this, look no further than Rosie’s Diner in Aurora where both the surroundings and the menu are full of all that was wonderful during the 50’s.
Rosie's is truly an original American diner and was actually built in New Jersey.
The stainless steel modular was built by a company called Paramount in New Jersey and transported to Aurora via flatbed trucks. Paramount is one of the last remaining diner manufacturers in the country.
Upon entering Rosie's Diner, you can't help but be swept up into the 50's vibe that surrounds you.
They even offer a patio, which in colder months is enclosed and heated.
When you slide into your booth, you will be pleasantly surprised to find your own personal jukebox where a quarter buys you two classic oldies of your choice.
Rosie's serves up class diner comfort food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Breakfast, like this hearty 8 oz. New York Strip, eggs, and hash brown meal, is offered all day, every day. That will give you ample opportunity to try out the wide variety of skillets, omelets, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and french toast that catch your eye on the menu.
The menu is massive and is overflowing with those diner classics that we all crave including an impressive selection of hamburgers and sandwiches, meatloaf, roast beef, and so much more.
The menu even features a "South of the Border Favorites" section that will get your mouth watering.
Make sure you add an order of their homemade pork green chile, which is a customer favorite.
Rosie's also offers a complete selection of beer, wine, and cocktails.
Nothing tops off a diner experience like ordering a American classic banana split, or real old fashioned milkshake for dessert.
You may also be interested in a root beer or Creamsicle float, or the freshly baked pie of the day.
If you really have a sweet tooth, than you're in luck. Check out the front counter at Rosie's and you will discover more than 50 types of retro sweets to choose from.
They also sell official Rosie's souvenirs to customers.
Just when you thought Rosie's couldn't possibly get anymore "old school," you find out that they host weekly "Cruisn' Nights" from May through October.
Not only will you experience the retro surroundings and classic diner food on those nights, but you will also get to check out over 40 classic cars parked in their parking lot for you to enjoy.
So, for a trip down memory lane and a satisfying meal, make sure you visit Rosie's Diner.
