If there has ever been a time to unwind with a beer, it is 2020, thanks to – as you know – pandemic craziness, political unrest, Tiger King, and decision fatigue. If you love some good hops and are ready to venture out to new brews and flavors, you are in luck, as our very own capital city has been named one of the best beer scenes in America!
It's official (as if we had any doubts before): Denver, Colorado is one of the best places for beer in the country, as per USA Today's 10Best!
According to 10Best's Best Beer Scene (2020), Denver is not only the home of the famous Great American Beer Festival (pictured) but "roughly 100 craft breweries, brewpubs, and taprooms currently operating in the metro area" as well as Coors Brewing Company in nearby Golden.
In addition to Denver, 10Best mentions other can't-beat city beer scenes, including St. Louis, Missouri (#1), Richmond, Virginia (#6), and Chicago, Illinois (pictured, #10).
Also noted in 10Best's Denver description is the Mile High City's first brewpub, Wynkoop Brewing Company, which was co-founded by senator-elect John Hickenlooper in 1988 and still reigns as one of the city's favorites.
Whether you prefer a hoppy IPA or something sweet and smooth, there is a beer for every preference in Denver, many of which also serve up food and entertainment.
