If you live in Colorado (or have ever visited), you get it — the pristine scenery, abundance of activities, adventure at every corner…What’s not to love about the Centennial State?! Besides the immense amount of love for our state, we are also bursting with pride for these 17 reasons (and more)!
1.) Fountain is known as the United States' millennium city because of its symbolization of the American "melting pot" (It was chosen after a Queens College sociologist crunched Census Bureau statistics in an effort to find the one city in the country that best represented the population make-up of the United States).
2.) Denver restaurant owner Louis Ballast allegedly invented the cheeseburger in 1935.
3.) Hundreds of thousands of valentines are re-mailed from Loveland each year.
4.) The world's first rodeo was held on July 4th, 1869 in Deer Trail -- and every year, Denver hosts the Western Stock Show (the world's largest rodeo).
5.) Rocky Ford has been dubbed the "melon capital of the world."
