Legend has it that one-time Imperial Hotel owner George Long met his untimely death when he (under suspicious circumstances) fell down a flight of stairs. However, George can still be "seen" today groping women and playing the slots at the hotel.
One of the darker hauntings takes place at Aurora's North Middle School, where it is a said a girl who drowned in the school's swimming pool can still be seen roaming the halls.

No Colorado ghost sightings list is complete without the iconic Stanley Hotel, which has been plagued with reports of paranormal activity since the 1970s. Today the hotel is a favorite destination for both dignitaries and ghost hunters alike.
