If you grew up in Colorado, there is no denying that you had the best childhood ever. From having the opportunity to ski to the large variety of landscapes and ecosystems located right in your own backyard, there was never a shortage of things to see, do, or learn about in the Centennial State. Let’s now take a trip down memory lane and reminisce on these 15 childhood memories that everyone in Colorado has:
1. First and foremost, you remember watching Blinky's Fun Club every morning on Channel 2.
I SO wanted Blinky to sing "Happy Birthday" to ME.
2. You took awesome family vacations to the Great Sand Dunes...
3. ...Mesa Verde...
4. ...and Four Corners.
5. Only in Colorado can you say that you live just down the street from Santa's Workshop!
6. You have enjoyed countless white Christmases...
7. ...and snow days.
Well, those of us on the Eastern Plains had a ton of snow days, but I can't speak for the rest of you.
8. You took magical trips to the mystical world of Casa Bonita.
(Spoiler: It isn't nearly as magical when you're older...)
9. You learned from a young age the art of creativity.
(And you learned it by creatively planning your Halloween costume around your coat.)
10. Speaking of coats, you never had to wear one at recess...
Unless―of course― it was below 10 degrees and snowing.
11. ...and you rocked your favorite pair of flip flops year round.
12. Your 4th of July fireworks had a stunning mountain backdrop.
13.) Finally―if you are a 90's child like myself―you took epic field trips to the Butterfly Pavilion...
...and held Rosie!
14. ...Dinosaur Ridge...
15. ...and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
