Coloradoans: I come bearing good news! According to researchers at Cornell University, the Rocky Mountains are the BEST place to go during a zombie apocalypse! That’s right, folks. When the mindless living dead come to town, we’re safe! Can’t make it to the mountains? No problem! Just get to one of these eight places:
1. Fort Carson.
NO zombie is going to get past thousands of America's finest (and their firearms). Nice try, living dead. Nice try.
2. Norad.
Located in Cheyenne Mountain, the former North American Aerospace Defense Command bunker is essentially a city within the mountain. Close the 25-ton blast doors and wait out the apocalypse in government style!
3. On the ski lift of your choice.
Did the zombies finally make their way to the Rocky Mountains? Don't despair! Hop on the ski lift of your choice and ride it out! You may have to kick the brainless beasts away at the top and bottom of the hill, but you got this!
4. Telluride Gondola
(Same concept as the ski lift, but with even more amazing views.)
5. Burlington
Located near the Kansas border, this small and rural town is far away from any big cities, (Denver is a 3-hour drive), and it offers plenty of things to occupy your time, including the historic Kit Carson Carousel.
6. A prison.
Take your pick of any Colorado prison and enjoy indoor plumbing, a bed and nearly non-existent windows.
7. A factory.
It's the end of the world as we know it, so why not camp out in the factory of your choice and wait it out? Personally, I'd choose the Anheuser-Busch factory and get a nice little buzz while I wait...
8. Mesa Verde
It's a fact that zombies can't climb...but you can! Climb up one of the ladders of these historic dwellings and watch the zombies give it their best shot.
