1. The first television broadcast out of Denver. (1952)

2. The plutonium fire at the Atomic Energy Commission Rocky Flats Plant. (1957)

Not only did the fire contaminate the plant, but Denver air as well.
3. Adolph Coors III, heir to the Coors fortune, is murdered during a botched kidnapping. (1960)

4. A flash flood on the South Platte River kills 28 and causes damages of $500M. (1965)

5. Denver is selected to host the XII Olympic Winter Games. (1969)

6. The entire world holds its breath after an oxygen tank explodes on the Apollo 13 flight to the moon. (1970)
