If there is one thing that we Coloradans love (aside from legalizing cannabis, craft beer, and skiing), it is a good outdoor market! While the weather outside may be a little chillier than usual, you best believe that isn’t going to keep us away from Mother Nature and artisan goods, which is why we cannot get enough of this outdoor Christmas market:
Situated at Skyline Park in Downtown Denver is the 17th annual Denver Christkindl Market, which brings together German culture with the most unforgettable sights, sounds, and smells of the season.
Hosted by the German American Chamber of Commerce and the German Cultural Foundation, the Denver Christkindl Market pays homage to the traditional German Christmas markets, which date back to the 14th Century and originally only "provided only food and practical supplies for the cold winter season, but soon the markets became a beloved holiday tradition and a great way to get into the Christmas spirit."
(Since there is something new and different happening every day, be sure to check the Christkindl Market's website for an in-depth calendar of events.)
The Denver Christkindl Market is located at the 16th St. Mall and Arapahoe St. (in Denver) and runs Sunday through Thursday from 11 am to 7 pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 9 pm from now until December 23rd.
