Living in Colorado is REALLY expensive. Surprised? No? Me neither…Fortunately, there are still some great cities and towns in the Centennial State that are somewhat inexpensive, including:
1.) Brush (Population: 5,501)
Located on the eastern plains, Brush is a safe and friendly town abundant in both jobs and affordable homes. (Most single-family homes cost $70K less than the national average.)
2.) Fort Lupton (Population: 6,787)
Conveniently located near several major highways and cities is Fort Lupton with its ample economy and affordable home costs.
3.) Holyoke (Population: 2,313)
If you're looking for a small town to raise your family, look no further than the northeast town of Holyoke with its low crime rates and low cost of living.
4.) Louisville (Population: 18,376)
While the cost to buy a home in Louisville is slightly above the national average, the cost of living (groceries, utilities, etc.) is much lower than the surrounding area.
5.) Johnstown (Population: 13,306)
Located just south of Fort Collins is Johnstown with its higher-than-average incomes, low cost of living and affordable housing.
6.) La Junta (Population: 7,568)
This eastern Colorado town is home to Otero Junior College and average annual mortgage payments of only $4,447!
7.) Wellington (Population: 6,725)
This growing NoCo town boasts a median income of $69K and average annual mortgage payments of less than $10K.
Do you call any of these towns “home?”
