Do you play pickleball? Until recently, this funny-sounding sport (essentially tennis, ping-pong, and badminton) was not very well known but has recently picked up a large following and evolved into “America’s fastest-growing sport.” Sound fun? It is, which is why we are so excited about this pickleball eatery that is coming soon to Colorado:
Welcome to Camp Pickle, which is set to open in Denver in 2024!
That's right, folks: you have plenty of time to take up pickleball before Camp Pickle's grand debut!
From Punch Bowl Social founder and "eatertainment" guru Robert Thompson, Camp Pickle is a new concept in pickleball, as the eatery will combine courts with delicious food and drinks.
Slated to become a small chain (with the first two locations in Centennial and Huntsville, Alabama), Camp Pickle will resemble midcentury national park camping facilities complete with campfires and a campfire-inspired menu, picnic areas and cabanas, and - of course - pickleball courts.
Can you see why Camp Pickle is billed as a place "where the playful come to eat, the hungry to compete, and everyone - young and old, dinkers and bangers, meet"?
In a recent interview with 9News, Thompson shared that pickleball - while already gaining momentum - will continue to become even more popular (there are currently 5 million players per year and projected growth of 40 million by 2030), which is why he plans to open 10 facilities across the country by 2026.
