Well, it happened again, Colorado: Our state received national acclaim for being the BEST! Are you surprised? No? Neither are we! This time, one of our many charming small towns was once again named one of the best in the country, which – in this case – is beautiful Telluride:
The highly-anticipated USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice list was recently released, which names Telluride as one of the Best Small Towns for Adventure!
According to 10Best Local Expert Amber Gibson, "Telluride is my favorite Colorado ski town... and winter is also great for snowmobiling, fat tire biking, and ice climbing. Summer has wicked mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, and paragliding. Telluride also has the best Via Ferrata in the country – it's like horizontal rock climbing!"
Founded in 1878, Telluride was once a thriving mining town that - while prosperous in terms of silver ore - also found success with the railroad, skiing, and tourism in general, making it a mecca for all things Colorado.
If you love adventure, Telluride really is the place to be, thanks to such iconic attractions as deserted mines, world-class hiking, and other various outdoor recreation.
While Telluride is the place to be for adventure, there is so much more to love about this small Colorado town, thanks to its one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants, waterfalls, festivals, and accommodations.
