Are you looking for an extraordinary hike with an epic payout? Lucky for you, you live in Colorado, which is home to more of these than one can count! If you are looking for a beautiful hike complete with one of the state’s best waterfalls, however, you will want to take this 1/2-mile trail to Box Canyon Falls:
Located in Ouray, Box Canyon Falls (or "Ouray's own wonder of the world") is an incredible natural phenomenon that is also deemed a geologic wonder.
Boasting an amazing 285-foot drop, Box Canyon Falls is fed by the overhead Canyon Creek, which narrows and spills thousands of gallons of water per minute over the side of rock walls.
While water spilling over the side of rocky walls may not sound too unique, Box Canyon Falls houses a narrow quartzite canyon that is 100-feet taller than the waterfall itself, making for a sight that must be seen to be appreciated.
