Flower gardens may be all the rage, but have you ever visited a rock garden? While it may not sound like anything special, rock gardens can actually be just as visually stunning as the kinds with blooms and trees, as evidenced by Colorado’s very own Gardens On Spring Creek:
Located in Fort Collins, the Gardens on Spring Creek is arguably Northern Colorado's most beautiful garden oasis, thanks to its size and various themes.
Like all great gardens, the Gardens on Spring Creek - which span 18 glorious acres - is the perfect place to spend a warm afternoon, thanks to such gardens as the colorful Children's Garden, Foothills Garden, and, of course, the Rock Garden!
Opened in 2011, the Rock Garden at the Gardens on Spring Creek is laid out over an impressive 1/2 acre and features an easy-to-navigate flagstone path and is billed as being an "alpine area, with rocks and plants artistically arranged to reflect natural rock and plant relationships, creating a unique sense of place."
During your walk around the Rock Garden, you will discover tons of unique gardening inspiration, plus a collection of dwarf conifers, seasonal specialty bulbs, and many of Colorado's native plants.
In addition to the gardens themselves, the Gardens on Spring Creek also hosts several special events like the festive Garden of Lights, Pumpkins on Parade, concerts, yoga, and even a spring plant sale.
