Do you find the great outdoors relaxing? While hiking around Colorful Colorado is downright therapeutic (in our opinion), we have found an even better way to unwind outside, which is via Colorado’s top all-natural hot springs! Fortunately for us Coloradans, not one but two of our local springs have just been named some of the best hot springs in the US, and you are going to want to visit ASAP:
It's official: Dunton Hot Springs and Glenwood Springs have been named two of the best hot springs in the country!
According to Travel + Leisure and its recently released 10 of the Best Hot Springs in the United States, Dunton Hot Springs in Dolores is a can't-miss, as the stunning glampground "offers a variety of hot springs pools in a picturesque setting."
As if you needed another reason to visit Dunton, you can also "Soak inside the bathhouse, in an outdoor pool, or book the Well House for your own private hot springs experience." Need they say more?
Initially established in 1885, Dunton Hot Springs is housed on the grounds of a former mining town, which took 7 years to convert into the beautiful area it is today.
As per the article, "With mountains, lakes, a canyon, and more, Glenwood Springs has outdoor activities for everyone," including Glenwood Hot Springs Resort (the world’s largest mineral hot springs pool, pictured) and Iron Mountain Hot Springs (which "features a bathhouse and 16 pools overlooking the Rocky Mountains").
Incorporated in 1885, Glenwood Springs was once an Old West town that is now a popular tourist destination thanks to its many historic sites, outdoor recreational opportunities, and - of course - hot springs.
