When it comes to convenience, Colorado is THE place to be, as we have easy access to countless landmarks and destinations, plus shopping opportunities (a la large chain stores) around every corner. While big-box chain stores can be convenient, we prefer to support places that are both local and historical, like the surprising Glen Haven General Store:
Located in Larimer County is the unincorporated community of Glen Haven, a historical sawmill town that is home to one of the best general stores in the state!
First opened in 1921, the Glen Haven General Store was established by Glen Haven's newly-founded association and is now considered to be one of the Centennial State's most famous mountain town eateries.
While one may assume that the term "general store" means merely canned goods and sundries, Glen Haven manages to go above and beyond with their selection, thanks to all of their freshly-baked goods and made-from-scratch items.
No matter when you visit, you are guaranteed to find something downright tasty at the Glenwood Haven General Store, which has everything from drool-worthy cinnamon rolls to homemade fudge and cobbler.
Please note: If you plan to order more than six cinnamon rolls at a time, please call the store at (970) 586-2560 at least 1 day ahead.
In addition to its baked goods and pre-packaged foods, the Glenwood Haven General Store sells souvenirs, handmade quilts, and unique gifts, making it a one-stop-shop for anything and everything you could possibly need.
