Do you love the hustle and bustle of the city but also enjoy getting in touch with nature? While this may sound like an oxymoron, such a place DOES exist, and – according to WalletHub – can be found right here in Colorado, as our very own capital city was just named one of the best cities in America for recreation:
According to WalletHub, the top cities have a "wide range of leisure activities, both indoor and outdoor," as well as high scores in "basic living costs, the quality of parks, the accessibility of entertainment and recreational facilities and the weather," making Denver a no-brainer.
Coming in at #14, Denver was reported to have some of the highest Quality of Parks (which factors in playgrounds per capita, acres of parkland, and walkable parks, to name a few) as well as Entertainment and Recreational Facilities (a la number of attractions, bike and walk score, etc.).
Okay, maybe the cost shouldn't come as too big of a shock!
In addition to Denver, other Colorado cities also made the list, with Colorado Springs (pictured) coming in at #53 and Aurora at #80 (out of 100 cities).
Which cities came in ahead of Denver? As per WalletHub, Orlando, Florida, Cincinnati, Ohio, and St. Louis, Missouri (pictured) are all better cities for recreation.
