There is no doubt that Colorado is the best state in the country, but whenever we receive some outside recognition, we can’t help but burst with pride! Recently, the Centennial State was acknowledged for something pretty special. U.S. News & World Report released its latest ranking of the best places to live in America, and not one, but TWO Colorado cities were among the top three! Check it out:
It's official: Denver has been named one of the best cities to live in America!
According to U.S. News and World Report's
125 Best Places to Live in the USA , Denver was named the second best city to live in, following just slightly behind Austin, Texas.
U.S. News considered several different factors to determine the top places to live, including an analysis of public data and reviews of each of the 125 locations.
Cities were given scores in several categories related to quality of life.
Denver received high marks for its desirability (8.8), job market (7.9), and general quality of life (7.0), as well as strong scores in other categories, giving it an overall score of 7.4.
Austin snagged the top spot with an overall score of 7.6, so it was quite a close race!
Although Denver has seen a steady increase in cost of living, U.S. News’ Value Index shows that Denver still has a better overall value than other cities of a similar size when it comes to housing cost and median income.
Following right behind Denver, another Colorado city took the #3 spot: Colorado Springs!
In fact, Colorado Springs also received an overall score of 7.4, with an incredible 10 out of 10 score for desirability!
Other noteworthy scores included a 7.0 for quality of life and 6.8 for its job market.
It’s quite an impressive feat that two Colorado cities made it into the coveted top spots, especially when you consider that they beat out popular cities like Minneapolis-St. Paul, San Francisco, and Seattle - as well as 123 others!
As if we didn’t already know how lucky we are to live in such a wonderful state, this prestigious ranking just goes to show that the rest of the world is taking notice too.
