When it comes to comfort food, nothing satisfies quite like a big plate of fried chicken with all of the made-from-scratch fixings. But just where does one go to get this when one (meaning myself) does not like to make homemade fried chicken? You go to this old-school Colorado restaurant that serves some of the best chicken dinners you’ve ever tasted:
Located in Colorado Springs is the Mason Jar Restaurant; a down-home diner that has served a MILLION of their legendary chicken fried steak dinners!
Opened in 1982, the Mason Jar has been Colorado Springs' go-to not only for food but for a charming, low-key ambiance with a staff that makes you feel like family.
While we love the good people and comfortable dining room, our favorite part of all would have to be the lip-smacking menu, which includes the aforementioned chicken fried steak...
...burgers, sandwiches, steaks, and fish...
...and made-from-scratch desserts as good as your grandma used to make.
While you really cannot go wrong with anything at the Mason Jar, our favorite part of all is that of their homemade fried chicken dinner!
Each of their old-fashioned fried chicken dinners comes complete with four pieces of their fabulous chicken, homemade biscuits and cornbread, and your choice of two sides.
The Mason Jar Restaurant is located at 2925 W Colorado Ave. in Colorado Springs and is open every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
