There are just some things in life that people feel strongly about, including politics, religion, and – most importantly – who serves the best burger and fries in the state. While the first two may be lost causes, I think it is safe to say that we can all agree that the best burgers and fries come from this famous Colorado burger joint:
Located in Denver is the iconic Duffy's Cherry Cricket, AKA "Denver's favorite burger joint since 1945."
Originally called Mary Zimmer's Bar (which makes sense, since the restaurant was owned by Zimmer and operated out of her home), Cherry Cricket has a history as memorable as the food itself, thanks to a number of different owners and locations throughout its nearly 75 years.
Due to its long lifespan, the Cherry Cricket has had plenty of time to perfect its menu and offers such mouthwatering burgers as the classic 1/2 pound Cricket Burger...
The chili and cheese are optional, but highly recommended.
The overwhelming popularity of the Cherry Cricket has allowed the restaurant to open a second location, which is conveniently located next to Coors Field (2220 Blake St. in Denver).
