Colorado is famous for its purple mountain majesties, sports teams, and killer green chile, but we natives know that there is something else we do right: beer. While locals already know this to be true, out-of-staters have come to discover our hops, too, as Fort Collins was just named one of the best beer scenes in America:
"Denver may be more known for its beer scene, which is over 100 breweries strong, but Fort Collins is gaining a lot of attention from beer lovers," states USA Today, going on to note that it's a "small town with a bustling beer scene!"
With a population of 168,000 and an impressive 26 breweries, Fort Collins does indeed pack a punch in terms of hops, with an estimated 1 brewery for every 6,462 people.
Not only does Fort Collins have an abundance of breweries, but an abundance of delicious and high-quality breweries, including the iconic Odell, New Belgium, C.B. & Potts, and Equinox.
In addition to these well-known local brews, Fort Collins is also home to an Anheuser-Busch facility, which opened in 1988 and makes 33 different brands, including Budweiser, O’Doul’s, Michelob, and Busch.
While Fort Collins holds the spot for "best beer scene" in the hearts of Coloradans, 10Best's list names other cities and states, such as Charleston, South Carolina; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Richmond, Virginia (pictured).
