While Colorado gets a lot of attention for things like our scenery, outdoor recreation, and legal marijuana, one important aspect of our state is often overlooked, which is that of our sandy beaches. What, you didn’t know that landlocked Colorado had any beaches? Then you have obviously never visited this local beach and nearby attraction that you will want to visit time and again!
Welcome to Grand Lake, Colorado!
This charming mountain town is home to less than 500 residents and one of the cutest beaches in the state.
Established in 1881, the town was named for the surrounding lake and is famous for its tranquil lake views...
...its designated beach area...
...nearby Rocky Mountain National Park...
...and, my personal favorite, the old-time boardwalk!
Boasting more than 60 restaurants, shops, bars, and galleries, the Grand Lake boardwalk is guaranteed to delight every member of the family.
There are multiple ice cream and candy shops...
The decadent Grand Lake Chocolates is located at 918 Grand Ave.
...boutiques, gift and antique shops, and novelty stores...
...BBQ, pizza, and upscale dining...
Pictured above is the delicious Sagebrush BBQ & Grill, located at 1101 Grand Ave.
...and dozens of other unique spots to explore.
