If there is one thing that Coloradans are, it is creative. Take, for example, the unique restaurants around the state; while some would think they have to spend millions building a new place, Coloradans prove to be resourceful, as evidenced by the mortuary-turned-Denver-hotspot Linger, the iconic Broker’s bank vault dining room, and this restaurant, which is literally housed inside of an old airplane.
Welcome to Solos (also known as The Airplane Restaurant).
Before beginning its mission as a dining room, Solos’ Boeing KC-97 tanker — which was built in 1953 — served as a refueling aircraft, making several historic trips to Europe.
In addition to the plane housing the restaurant, Solos features a number of other aviation-inspired nods, which range from the flight attendant apparel worn by the waitstaff...
Solos also has an adjacent dining room, so you're not totally out of luck if the tanker space is full. You can still enjoy a tasty meal at this unique restaurant - just be sure to check out the plane-themed features after you dine!
