Ah, the 80s…It really didn’t get any better than leg warmers, Duran Duran and The Breakfast Club , did it? You know what else was the best? Growing up/living in Colorado during the 1980s! Here are 15 things you’ll remember if you grew up/lived in Colorado during the 1980s.
1.) Buying your first Lotto ticket
The Colorado Lottery began on January 24, 1983.
2.) Catching a Broncos game at Mile High Stadium
R.I.P. Mile High (the Stadium was demolished in 2002 and is now a parking lot for Sports Authority Field.)
3.) Witnessing our beloved Broncos lose Super Bowl XXI...
39 to 20 (New York Giants)
4.) ...and Super Bowl XXII
42 to 10 (Washington Redskins)
5.) Checking out that hotel from "The Shining"

6.) Hitting the slopes at Arapahoe East

7.) Cruising/Checking out downtown's new outdoor mall
The 16th Street Mall opened in 1982.
8.) Planning a special trip to the king of all malls: Cinderella City
R.I.P. Cinderella City (the mall closed in 1997 and was demolished in 1999.)
9.) Having to find an out-of-state baseball team to cheer for
