Mooresville is a town that's located in Limestone County, Alabama. Covering just 64 acres, it has less than 60 residents and is one of the state's most charming small towns.
One of the most interesting facts about Mooresville is the entire town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Among these places are several historic homes of all ages, sizes, and styles.
Interestingly, some of the post office's call boxes date all the way back to the pre-Civil War years and have been owned by the same families ever since.
Another building in Mooresville that's loaded with lots of history is the town's Church of Christ (circa 1854). In 1862, the future President James A. Garfield preached here.
Mooresville's famous Brick Church, which was built from handmade bricks in 1839, is another historic building in town. Today, this Greek Revival-style church is a popular wedding venue.
The historic Stagecoach Inn and Tavern, which was built circa 1821, served as Mooresville's inn and very first post office. It's supposedly Alabama's oldest frame public building.
