Take a hike in Devil’s Den to see extraordinary views of the Boston Mountains. The 2,500-acre state park has numerous trails to explore but one of our favorites is Yellow Rock. This loop up the mountain rewards hikers with gorgeous cedar glades, rock formations, and panoramic views. Let’s take a journey through the forest to see these stunning scenes:
For a front-row view of Arkansas’ glorious nature, families should take a hike around Devil’s Den State Park.
This beloved state park was established back in the 1930s. The cave system may be the main feature of the park but don’t underestimate its gorgeous mountain views!
One of the best tours within the park’s 2,500-acres is along Yellow Rock Trail.
Traverse through this beautiful green scene for rewarding vista views. Before getting to the main overlook, let’s take note of some of the other highlights.

Devil’s Den is known for being one of the most intact CCC sites in all of the U.S. The Civilian Conservation Corps used native materials to create sturdy wood and stone structures. The first CCC structure built in the park is found along Yellow Rock Trail.
After climbing about 300-ft. you’ll arrive at the main vista.
Don’t just snap a picture and keep going - take time to explore! Enjoy a picnic or rest in a hammock. Keep in mind the full hike takes about 2-3 hours, so this is the perfect spot for a break.
