A place that’s taken the tomatoes of Italy, the crust style of New York, and the foundation of good southern hospitality to create the world’s best pizza. Eleanor’s Pizzeria in Jonesboro has blended these elements into crafting the perfect pie. Appetites at the ready as we tour the world’s best pizzeria.
Eleanor’s Pizzeria opened earlier this year, in April. Although relatively new, they’ve been successful in world (pizza) domination.
James Best is responsible for creating this fabulous pie place. If the name sounds familiar to you it’s because he’s also the genius behind the delicious Skinny J’s restaurants.
So what makes this place so special? It starts with the dough, a process that should never be rushed. Eleanor’s dough is made in-house and undergoes a 24-hour leavening process to get the consistency just right. The made-to-order crust is then hand stretched to at least 18" and baked directly on a pizza stone.
All the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced as much as possible. So some menu items may only be available seasonally. Be on the lookout for new pizzas as they pop up on the menu!
Prepare your taste buds for pizza perfection with one of their delectable appetizers. They have stuffed cheesy bread, classic bruschetta or this work of art pictured: warm goat cheese with tomato basil and garlic toast points. Yum!
If you’re needing a bit more green before you bite into a slice, you can build your own salad.
Choose from fresh selections such as artichokes, Kalamata olives, roasted garlic, or gorgonzola cheese, to name a few. They have made-to-order salads as well, like this Caprese Salad.
It may be a challenging goal but try to save room for dessert. A bite of chocolate chip pie is the perfect celebratory reward for tasting the world’s best pizza.
