I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
Y’all, it’s festival season again! And if you haven’t been to any festivals yet, there is one that you should not miss. It’s the 66th Annual Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival and it will be epic this year! This family friendly event will be the tastiest festival you will attend. Why, you ask? Because Arkansas’ state fruit, the tomato, will be celebrated in all its glory. The food will be tasty, and the festival will be fun. So, head to Warren in southern Arkansas for this amazing event.
The award-winning Pink Tomato Festival will be held in downtown Warren, and it is the 66th year for this event.
The festival kicks off on June 4th with the pageant competition, and it ends with a free concert and fireworks show in the downtown square on June 11th.
The event began in 1956 as a one-day celebration by local tomato merchants, but has evolved into the epic week-long festivity that it is today. In fact, over 35,000 people are expected to visit this year.
There will be tons and tons of fun activities for the entire family. They include action-packed carnival rides, obstacle courses, bouncy houses, arts and crafts, a rock-climbing wall, and so much more.
There is a tomato packing competition, and an all-tomato luncheon where the menu will have nothing but delicious tomato selections. Vendors will also be selling those yummy fried green tomatoes.
But the highlight of this festival is the tomato eating contest. And if you love tomatoes, this event is for you. There are celebrity and non-celebrity competitors, and the current governor of Arkansas is expected to participate.
This festival has the tastiest food around, and the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame recognized it as a fantastic food-themed event.
So, if you love tomatoes or just enjoy a good festival, the Pink Tomato Festival is for you. Visit the website or Facebook page for a schedule of events.
