I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
Y’all know that there’s always room for dessert, right? And the Wooden Spoon Bakery makes some of the best desserts in Arkansas. This unassuming eatery has been serving sweet treats in Gentry for over 20 years. But the building that its housed in, has been around before the 1870s, where it was once a horse barn in Michigan.
Tucked away on Gentry Boulevard is the Wooden Spoon Bakery. And this award-winning eatery has the most delectable desserts in Northwest Arkansas.
The building, which was once a horse barn in central Michigan, is brimming with charm and southern hospitality.
The beams are from the original structure that was transported to Arkansas. And with the help of an architect, the owners were able to preserve them in their original form.
All the cakes are made from scratch with 6 layers. And this strawberry cake will not disappoint, and neither will the key lime, the carrot, the German chocolate, or the toasted buttered pecan. Count me in, yum!
Though the cakes and bread pudding are delectable, it’s the pies that are the star of the show.
And there are plenty of the award-winning pies to choose from. There’s the bumblebee, caramel pecan cream cheese, coconut cream, peanut butter, and more.
Best of all, if you can’t make up your mind on which yummy, sweet treat to choose, then order the dessert sampler and choose the 3 that you would like to eat.
Regardless of what you choose, you’ll be glad that you saved room for dessert at the Wooden Spoon. Not only is this eatery in the old horse barn charming, but it’s also serving the most delectable desserts in Northwest Arkansas.
Well, are you ready to try the best desserts in Arkansas from this once unassuming horse barn? Then head over to the Wooden Spoon in Gentry.
Currently, the eatery is only open on Monday to Friday, so be sure to check the website or Facebook page for updates. Also, if you would like to order whole cakes or pies, call ahead because some dessert selections require a 24-hour lead time.
