I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
One thing I love about Fort Smith is that you’ll never run out of things to do. As one of our largest cities in Arkansas, it has a lot to offer. From waterparks to historical sites to museums and more, there are so many attractions that are perfect for a day trip. Featuring a scenic riverwalk, a skate park as well as a concert venue, Harry E. Kelley River Park is one of my favorite attractions in Fort Smith. This riverfront park in Arkansas is the ultimate family destination, and you’ll want to check it out for yourself.
If you live in Arkansas, you've probably been to some of the many attractions in Fort Smith. But have you been to the Harry E. Kelley River Park?
Boasting an amphitheater, a glass pavilion, as well as an event space, this venue hosts various events throughout the year.
Tucked along the scenic Arkansas River, this park also features a skate park, playground, hiking trails, and more, making it perfect for a family-friendly day trip.
In addition, there is a playground with climbing structures that will keep the little ones busy for a bit. It's safe to say that they will have a blast!
This 6-mile, multi-use paved hiking trail, meanders along the Arkansas River and it's great for walking, biking, jogging, and more.
As you trek, you'll enjoy the scenic views as well as the many sculptures along the trail. Personally, the adorable little boy reading a book is my favorite.
And if that weren't enough, the park is a stone’s throw away from other attractions. They include the Park at West End, Miss Laura's Visitor Center, as well as this cool #2038 railroad engine.
Between the riverwalk, concert venue, and play area, there's no doubt that this is the best riverfront park in Arkansas, and it's perfect for a family friendly day trip.
So, what do you think about this fun-filled park in Fort Smith? Would you spend the day there with your family? If so, share your thoughts in the comments below. For more information about this park, visit the Harry E. Kelley River Park website.
