I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
With summer right around the corner, it’s time to plan your next adventure. And what better way to spend those steamy summer days than splish-splashing in a cool waterpark. Thankfully, Arkansas has a few of these wet and wild oases, but none as wacky as Parrot Island Waterpark. No summer is complete without a day enjoying the fun adventures at this island inspired oasis.
Nestled inside the Ben Geren Park in Fort Smith, Arkansas is Parrot Island Waterpark, a Hawaiian themed tropical sanctuary.
The park opened its doors during the summer of 2015, and ever since, it has been a favorite escape for the entire family.
Complete with a lazy river, multiple water slides, a kid splash zone, a surf simulator, an 85,000 gallon wave pool and more, the adventures at this park are endless.
O’Hana means family in Hawaiian, and the O’Hana Highway is an exciting adventure the family can enjoy. Slide in a double tube with the kiddo or a single tube by yourself. Either way, this slide is tons of fun.
But what makes this park wacky are all the fun characters like Petey the parrot. He enjoys interacting with all his new friends that he meets at the park.
Petey also has other friends who hang out in the water with the kiddos. And a ton of other tropical animal themed friends that add to the immersive experience.
For the tiny adventurers, the Tiny Turtle Island has plenty of slides and sprinklers for them to enjoy.
Y’all, it’s time to kick off the summer right by spending the day splashing around at Parrot Island Waterpark. This island themed waterpark is filled with lots more adventure, and the 2022 season opens on Saturday May 14. So, be amongst the first to purchase tickets for this wacky tropical oasis.
