Not all worthwhile hikes go on for miles upon miles. There are lots of short-and-sweet treks in Arkansas, and one you don’t want to miss is the Sweden Creek Falls Trail. The 1.5-mile hike leads straight to a waterfall – but not just any waterfall. It leads to Sweden Creek Falls, which is the 8th tallest waterfall in Arkansas.
The towering Sweden Creek Falls can be found in the heart of the 136-acre Sweden Creek Falls Natural Area, which is near Kingston.
Near the small fall, the trail splits. One way leads to the top of Sweden Creek Falls; the other leads to the bluff’s base and, ultimately, the base of Sweden Creek Falls.
Each route offers a different experience – and view. At the top of the bluff, you’ll find plants that thrive in warm, hot temperatures along with a bird’s-eye view of the fall.
If you choose to trek to the waterfall’s base, use caution. This route requires clamoring on rocky surfaces, some of which are steep, slippery, or both.
