I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
If you have a favorite restaurant, chances are, you’ll travel for miles for the food, right? Some patrons even find themselves crossing state borders for a delicious meal. I don’t blame them one bit because I too, will drive hours for a good plate of food. There’s a small-town restaurant in Arkansas where folks are doing just that. People travel from near and far just to eat the burgers and fries from Neon Moon in Mountainburg Arkansas.
With less than 700 residents, Mountainburg might not be the first town in NWA that you would visit. But let me tell you, this town is hiding one of Arkansas' best kept secrets.
This burger joint has been slinging some of the best burgers in the state since 2015. The menu includes favorites like chicken fried steak, BBQ pulled pork, chicken strips, a Reuben, and more.
But it's the burgers and fries platter that keeps patrons coming back over and over again. All burgers are made with fresh, never frozen Angus beef and they are cooked to order to perfection.
Some folks have even claimed that they’re the best burgers that money can buy. And we can't disagree. The platter is served with seasoned fries as well as all the yummy toppings.
One of their signature items is the moon fries - a basket of fries with cheese sauce, pulled pork, and BBQ sauce that you can top with veggies, sour cream, and jalapeños. Need I say more?
At any given time, you can expect to see a crowd of folks gather to feast on the mouthwatering burgers at neon moon. The food is fresh and cooked to order, so be prepared to wait, you won't be disappointed.
Oh, and before I forget, no matter what you do, you must save room for dessert. The fried pies are to die for!!!
So, is your mouth watering for some of the food from this small-town restaurant in Arkansas? If so, plan a trip to the tiny town of Mountainburg and stop in for a bite to eat. Be sure to visit the Neon Moon Facebook page for a full menu as well as specials.
