I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
Arkansas has tons of incredible waterfalls. Some are easily accessible, while others are tucked inside our forests and mountain ranges. But it’s those hidden gems that have the greatest payoffs. And one such waterfall is Copperhead Falls, that’s nestled inside the Buffalo National River region. The hike to this secluded waterfall in Arkansas is positively amazing and worthy of your bucket list.
Copperhead Falls is located along the Indian Creek Trail. The 4.5-mile out-and-back trail is quite challenging and not recommended for the kiddos or for the pups.
The trailhead is accessible from Kyle’s Landing at the Buffalo National River. And you’ll need to follow the signs and hike along the Indian Creek bed for most of the trek.
Due to the slippery rocks and boulders along the creek, we recommend wearing boots or proper foot gear that can handle the terrain.
Additionally, be very careful because even expert hikers have faced some difficulties on this trail. But mostly on the upward ascend to see the natural wonder, the Eye of the Needle.

There are small ledges that you must traverse as you make your way.
Luckily, Copperhead Falls is one of the cascades along this trail, which means you don’t have to hike the entire 4.5 miles to view this incredible waterfall.
The water gently flows over the rock edges into a spectacular turquoise blue pool at the bottom of the falls. The hike to see the secluded waterfall in Arkansas is positively amazing. And the scenic, but challenging trail is worthy of your bucket list. For the more adventurous hiker, you’ll want to complete the entire trail. Seeing the Eye of the Needle is a reward in itself.
