Schoolhouse Falls Trail is a pleasant outdoor nature lesson in Arkansas. No studying needed since after you’ve parked you’re nearly there! We’ll find this gorgeous waterfall in the very far eastern edge of the Ozark National Forest so let’s enjoy the ride as we make our way to Schoolhouse:

Like all great Arkansas adventures, a backroad is required to get there.

This one is north of Hector and isn't nearly as rugged as some of the other routes we've endured to reach waterfall trailheads. Forest Road-1301 (White Oak Mountain Road) will lead to Forest Road-1307 (Wilderness Trail) and take you to the Austin Trailhead.
The Austin Trailhead will be the first point of interest you'll come across.

You can start your adventure here or shave off some time by continuing along a wide ATV trail. The parking coordinates can be found here.
From here, it's a quick meander to Schoolhouse Falls. There's even a second waterfall to discover along the way!

Schoolhouse Falls is less than a mile from the parking area and only a few yards from Upper Schoolhouse.

The waterfall isn't terribly tall (about 20 feet) but it's one you can walk behind!
The path along the creek will lead downhill so you can see every angle of the falls.
