I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
Living in the Natural State comes with certain perks. There are endless hidden gems waiting to be discovered. And while it can appear that we have seen the best ones, there are tons more hiding in plain sight. Rattlesnake Ridge is a picturesque trail in Arkansas that has one of the greatest rewards and could arguably be the state’s best kept secret. Grab those boots and let’s trek this incredible trail that leads to the most amazing overlook.
Located in Roland, just a few miles west of Pinnacle Mountain, is Rattlesnake Ridge Natural Area.
This conservation area consists of a series of multi-use trails that offer hiking, biking, as well as rock climbing adventures.
This makes the area a paradise for all outdoor enthusiasts. The trail systems range in difficulty, but there are two trails that can be easily traversed by most hikers.
They are the Cliffbrake and the Timber Trail. While the Timber Trail is designated for hiking only, the 3-mile Cliffbrake trail is a favorite and offers both hiking and mountain biking.

The trail system is open from sunrise to sundown, so plan your trek accordingly.
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring hiking poles for extra support. Of course, take the pup along as well to share in this rewarding experience.
It’s a conservation area, so you’ll see pretty little wildflowers during the warmer months, and you might even encounter rattlesnakes as well as other snake species. So, proceed with the greatest amount of caution as you hike.
The trail is great any time of year, but fall offers vibrant hues as well as cooler weather. Once you get to the top of the ridge, you’ll be greeted by one of the most breathtaking vistas in Arkansas.
We recommend that you stay until sunset to truly experience the majestic views from this picturesque trail in Arkansas. Of course, have your camera in hand, so that you can capture all the beauty of this pretty little hiking trail.
Have you ever hiked the trail systems at Rattlesnake Ridge? If so, tell us in the comments below which trail you hiked. Also, if you would like to read more about Rattlesnake Ridge and its conservation efforts, be sure to visit the website.
