J.B. Weisenfels has lived in rural Arkansas for three decades. She is a writer, a mom, and a graduate student. She is also an avid collector of tacky fish whatnots, slightly chipped teapots, and other old things. In her spare time she enjoys driving to the nearest creek to sit a while. If you were to visit her, she'd try to feed you cornbread.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
If you’re looking to have an adventure mining for diamonds at an open-to-the-public diamond mine, there’s only one place in the whole world where you can do that. Crater of Diamonds State Park is in Murfreesboro, right here in the Natural State. While you’re in town, though, you’ll probably need a place to stay, right? There’s one boutique hotel in Murfreesboro that makes a mining adventure even more exciting, and it does that by allowing you to stay in a tiny little old west frontier town.
Right from the moment you arrive, you’ll see that Diamonds Hotel/Cabins has taken the old west theme seriously. From the cabins to the teepees, you can be absolutely certain that you’ve come to stay somewhere exceptional.
Those themes carry through to the interior of the cabins as well. The inside of the sheriff’s office and jail cabin includes two floors, and the ground floor is the jail. There’s probably no other context in which it’s 100% okay to put your children in a cell for the night, but Diamonds makes it seem so fun.
Each suite has its own entrance and its own theme. Miss Kitty’s Hotel’s two suites are a good example of the different themes inside each cabin. Madam Hollander’s is ideal for the whole family...
...while the decor on Miss Kitty’s floor is geared more toward romance. Yes, there are bunk beds in Miss Kitty’s suite too, but the heart shaped bed in there is sending some very strong romantic getaway vibes.
Other options include a stay in the Livery, the Bank, or the Stables. You can’t make a wrong choice here, as they’re all incredibly well done and appealing places to stay the night.
The hotel has a number of family friendly activities on the 40 acres that surround it, including a pedal cart track.

They also have something called a foam party or "the great diamond wash," and y’all need to start getting excited about it. It’s literally just a whole heap of suds you can run and play in.
The group of cabins really does look like a tiny old west town, but that’s only part of its appeal. There really isn’t any place in the Natural State that can transport you to an old timey frontier town while delivering such an incredibly fun time.
Diamonds Hotel/Cabins has more than you can expect from most hotels: rest, relaxation, a whole heap of activities, and the old west like you’ve never seen it before.
