However, if you visit in the summer, you can take advantage of one of the park’s biggest perks – its picturesque lake, which is perfect for swimming. Unbeknownst to many, Arkansas has a flourishing wine country. If you’ve never sought out the QuiVaLa Elise Waterfall, you should change that this summer. Located within the Smith Creek Nature Preserve, the flowing fall is a favorite of photographers, and it’s easy to see why – it’s stunning! A 1.6-mile out-and-back trail leads to the waterfall. When the hot summer temps are too much to bear, pay a visit to Arkansas Pineapple Whip! The seasonal sweet shop has two locations – one in Conway and one in Sherwood.
