Camp Taco isn’t just one of Arkansas’ newest restaurants. It’s one of the most unique, too. And that’s because it’s inspired by summer camps throughout the decades. The nostalgic setting isn’t the only thing that makes it unique, though. There’s also the menu, which is filled with creative, one-of-a-kind dishes.
In October 2021, Camp Taco opened in the space formerly occupied by Rebel Kettle Brewing in Little Rock.
Originally, it was opened so that the brew team could create and showcase new recipes. Before long, though, it evolved into a concept restaurant that’s overflowing with nostalgia!
Inspiration for the space was pulled from “summer camp and woodland camping across the decades.” The end result is a setting that resembles a cabin or campsite that’s been in the family for decades.
Nods to the past include everything from strategically placed retro items and TV displays from the 1980s to 1960s-inspired seating and wood paneling from a company that hasn’t changed its product since the 1970s.
The retro theme even extends to the drink menu. Dubbed the “Counselor’s Lounge,” the beverage selection includes themed mocktails and cocktails, like the Lava Lamp-A-Lada.
