I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
When it comes to natural wonders, of course, Arkansas tops the list! As the Natural State, we are blessed to have endless waterfalls, rock formations, mountains, forests, and more. While these hidden gems are great all year long, many come alive during the wintertime. That’s especially true for Glory B Falls in Huntsville. During the colder months, this little-known natural wonder in Arkansas transforms into an enchanting, frozen cascade…and trust me, you’ll want to witness it for yourself.
Tucked inside the McIlroy Madison County WMA in the Ozarks is Glory B Falls, and it has a few great things about it. First, it's off the beaten path, which means you might have the pretty cascade all to yourself.
Next, it’s a roadside waterfall, where no hiking is required. So, just park your car beside the WMA sign and follow the sound of the flowing creek until you get to the hidden gem.
Lastly, you can actually walk behind the waterfall. If you ask me, it gets no cooler than that. Plus, if you love nature photography, this is a great spot to capture some incredible Instagram worthy pics.
Of course, the temperature must be ideal to witness this incredible phenomenon. How cool is it to see the icicles, especially if you choose to explore behind them.
If you're there when it snows, be sure to bundle up and wear your proper winter hiking gear. Though there is no hiking involved, the area can be quite slippery, so do take caution.
Nature photographers will want to take pictures from different vantage points. After all, seeing a frozen waterfall is like a winter dream come true. Don't you agree?
