I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
You may know Mountain Home as the Twin Lakes area that is surrounded by the beauty of the Ozarks. But did you know that the town is a diverse culinary destination in Arkansas? And as a small town, it could arguably be a top foodie paradise in the U.S. If you enjoy American, Asian, Latin, or European cuisines, then you must visit Mountain Home to eat at these delicious restaurants.
This family-owned restaurant serves the most authentic Greek cuisine that money can buy. From the gyros to the hummus to the falafel to the lamb souvlaki to the Greek salad, it’s guaranteed you’ll be getting the tastiest ingredients around.
The atmosphere is cool, the staff is friendly, and the food is fresh and flavorful. Of course, you must try one of the noodle dishes, the phad thai and drunken noodles are to die for. If you can handle it, go for the Thai hot spice level.
The food is packed with flavor and the colors are vibrant and has all the right elements that a foodie’s heart desires. If you love margaritas, then you’re in for a treat. LaPaloma made from scratch creations will blow your mind. Try the tropical orange rita with the fresh squeezed O.J and lime juice, you’ll want to order more than one.
For a starter be sure to try the gator bites, they are a local favorite. But you can’t go wrong with the shrimp and grits, the seafood gumbo, and of course, the catfish will send your taste buds into overdrive. Be sure to save room for dessert because the bread pudding is worth the extra calories.
Located in an adorable log cabin, this eatery serves breakfast all day. And you can find favorites like biscuits and sausage gravy as well as the infamous biscuits and chocolate gravy. There are also pancakes, omelets, chicken fried steaks, and more. But if you’re there for lunch or dinner, don’t skip over the meatloaf. It’s one of the best in the area.
BBQ is life in Arkansas, and Holy Smokes has mastered the art of smoked meats. They also smoke their mac and cheese and it’s as delicious as it sounds. Be sure to order it as your side.

If BBQ is cooked the right way, the meat will be so tender that it will fall off the bones. And the ribs at Holy Smokes are cooked to perfection. Aside from the ribs, you’ll absolutely love the sandwich creations. Perhaps one of the few restaurants in Arkansas where you can get a mouthwatering smoked prime rib sandwich.
The sushi creations are enticing and made with the freshest ingredients. In addition to the sushi, the hibachi is delicious, and the atmosphere is fun and exciting. This is a great place for the entire family to have a fun evening.
But the eatery welcomes patrons to broaden their culinary horizons by trying some of the delicious menu items. You’ll love the Shrimp Alvino, the Marsala combo, as well as the Veal Siciliano. And not to mention the freshly baked bread. YUM!!!
