I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
If you live in Arkansas, chances are, there is a drive-in in your town or in a nearby community. And this drive-in has been there since you were a kid, and over the years, you’ve eaten many cheeseburgers, fries, and a milkshake/malt from it. These iconic eateries are part of the fabric of Arkansas and many trigger nostalgic memories from our childhood. Of course, not many of these nostalgic gems have survived because of one reason or another. But there have been some that have stood the test of time, one of which is Barnett’s Dairyette in Siloam Springs. This 66-year-old retro drive-in in Arkansas is one of the best places to grab a burger and relive some of our fond childhood memories.
Barnetts was the brainchild of Ervie Barnett who opened the business in 1957. The beloved drive-in stayed in the family for 3 generations before it was sold in 2002.
Though under new management, the eatery has kept its old-fashioned charm and remains true to its roots by serving the best burgers, fries, and yummy ice cream treats that money can buy.
Over the years, the drive-in has expanded to include indoor seating, but curbside service is still available. There's nothing more nostalgic than having the full drive-in experience, don't you agree?
If you love old-fashioned burgers, then you won't be disappointed when you sink your teeth into the juicy burgers at Barnetts. And the salty, crispy hand-cut fries have been the same since the beginning of time.
Plus, occasionally, you can also find yummy specials like this catfish platter on the menu. So, if burgers or hotdogs aren't your thing, you can still enjoy a wholesome meal at this local staple.
There's no doubt that a meal at this drive-in will bring back some fond childhood memories. And if you visit, you may even see some vintage cruisers parked outside this retro drive-in in Arkansas. How cool is that?
