I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
The Ozarks are dotted with lots of natural areas to explore. And when you think you’ve seen it all, there is always a new trail filled with magical wonders. Take for instance Sweden Creek Falls Trail, which features the eighth tallest waterfall in Arkansas. But the adventure doesn’t stop there because this scenic hiking trail in Arkansas has more waterfalls than you can imagine. Dust off those boots and let’s explore this hiking trail filled with lots of wonders.
If you love chasing waterfalls, then you must add Sweden Creek Falls Natural Area in Kingston to your list. This 136-acre natural area is home to the eighth tallest waterfall in Arkansas.
Not only does the landscape feature several waterfalls, but it also has a flowing creek, scenic bluff lines, incredible rock formations, and so much more.

To get to the Sweden Creek Falls trailhead, use the easy-to-follow directions to the parking area. The trailhead starts at the parking lot and is easy to locate.
Additionally, it is recommended to wear proper footwear as there will be some slick areas on the way. Now that we have covered the logistics, let’s get started with this trek exploring these awesome waterfalls.
As you begin the hike, you’ll notice that the trail is well-maintained and well-traversed. About halfway in, you’ll come across an abandoned homestead area.
From there, the trail splits and you’ll have a choice to hike to the base of the waterfall or to the top for a different vantage point.
Take the lower trail along the base of the waterfall and it is there that you will encounter not one, not two, but three pretty little waterfalls back to back.
These unnamed cascades are about 10 feet high and worthy of exploring.
You can easily navigate to each waterfall to get a different view. There are tiny pools along with rocky landscapes where the water plunges from the falls.
In addition, there are lots of other pools and smaller waterfalls trickling over rock outcroppings along the bluff line. It is safe to say that there is something to see around every corner as you trek.
At the end of the trail, you’ll reach Sweden Creek Falls, the spectacular 80-foot wonder that is a sight to behold.
Best of all, you can explore the waterfall from above, below, and behind. If you’re there after a good rain, you might witness a double waterfall, which is truly amazing.
