I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
If you live in Arkansas, chances are, you’ve heard the haunting tales of the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs or the Allen House in Monticello. Some folks believe they are some of the most haunted places in America. But do you know about the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas? Ghost hunters in the paranormal community have declared it one of the most haunted places in the South. If you’re brave enough, come with me on this ghostly adventure to explore the halls of this spooky museum and discover the restless spirits that are trapped within.
The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas is housed in a historic 1840 arsenal building in Little Rock.
Known as one of the most haunted places in the South, it has been featured on PBS as well as shows about paranormal encounters.
Through live exhibits and various programs, the museum preserves Arkansas’ rich military heritage and tells the legendary stories of our brave soldiers.
There are tons of exhibits both inside and outside the arsenal building. They include weapons, photographs, artifacts, uniforms, as well as this 1943 Willys Jeep.
Perhaps the most chilling is that of a soldier guarding the premises. It is said that his voice has been captured on paranormal devices telling folks to “get out” of the building.
Other reports speak of the frightening tale of a wandering widow in white waiting at the top of the stairs for her husband to return from the battlefield.
So, it’s no wonder that paranormal investigators have labeled it as one of the most haunted places in the South.
